Gold, silver articles, cash taken away from house

BANGALORE: Cash and valuables have been reportedly stolen from a house in Kasturinagar in Ramamurthinagar police station limits.

The owner of the house, Vikram Shankar, has told the police that he had gone to Chennai on January 3 and returned to the city on January 8. The door lock was broken and Rs. 50,000 in cash and diamond, gold and silver articles valued at Rs. 3 lakhs had been taken away, he said. A case has been registered.

Worker dies

A daily wage worker died on the spot when an overloaded crane bucket fell on him in the Jalahalli police station limits on Sunday. The police have registered cases of negligence against the factory's managing director and supervisor. The worker, Venkatesh (27), a resident of Dasarahalli in Bangalore, hailed from Belagola in Hassan district.
