Lakshmi Nizamuddin dead

BANGALORE: Lakshmi Nizamuddin, 72, social activist and wife of the former Director-General of Police A.R. Nizamuddin, died here on Tuesday.

Lakshmi, who was indisposed for long, died in a private hospital.

She is survived by her husband and a son.

Lakshmi, who was affected by polio and was wheelchair bound, was the State President of the All India Association for Equal Opportunities for Physically Handicapped.

The Rotary Club had honoured her with Paul Harris Fellowship.
