Mediapersons manhandled
The lady reporter, cameraman and attendant of `Sahara Samay' had gone to survey and check the reported violation of building bylaws at his Krishna Nagar residence by Municipal Councillor Ramesh Pandit. As they reached the spot, they had a spat with the Councillor's brother following which his henchmen and other family members also arrived on the scene and the mediapersons were manhandled. Councillor Ramesh Pandit was not present during the entire episode. Later, the police was called and a complaint made by the Councillor's family against `Sahara' personnel.
Schools reopen today
Official sources said the decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Education Minister Arvind Singh Lovely. The meeting noted that the weather had improved and the children could return to classes. The government had announced closure of all primary schools on December 8 last when the mercury came down to 0.2 degree Celsius -- the lowest since 1935.
