Pondicherry: The Karaikal unit of the Pondicherry Agriculturists Union picketed three centres in Karaikal district on Thursday. They were demanding the Union Territory administration implement relief assurances given to tsunami-hit farmers. According to a release from general secretary of the union, T. Geethanathan, police arrested several protestors including, the secretary of the Pondicherry State CPI committee and MLA, N. Kalainathan, for picketing. — Special Correspondent
