KOLKATA: B. Adhiban of Tamil Nadu and Padmini Rout of Orissa won the boys' and girls' titles respectively in the National under-13 chess championship on Thursday. Adhiban, who became a champion with a round to spare by gaining an invincible lead with 9.5 points on Wednesday, played out a regulation draw in the final round against State-mate N. Surendran. The competition was for the second spot, which had four players tied on 8.5 points. S. Nitintallied the best progressive score to pick up the silver. Top positions: Boys: 1. B.
