ALAPPUZHA: Mavelikara sessions judge K. Ramakrishnan on Thursday sentenced to life imprisonment Mohanan (36), House number 73, Madhavavaram Milk Colony, Chennai, on charges of murdering Lissy (62), Varambel Puthen Veedu, Kallimel, Kollakadavu in the district. The incident occurred on July 16, 1999. Investigation revealed that some of the villagers had seen Mr. Mohanan at Lissy's home on the day of murder. The police also found that the murderer had robbed Lissy of her ornaments. Public prosecutor Oommen Alummoottil appeared for the prosecution.
