Stamp racket: CBI application allowed
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The Special Court trying the multicrore stamp paper racket cases on Thursday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to produce the seals seized in the case registered at the Upparpet police station, in the trail of the case registered with Peenya police station.
The judge, A.T. Munnoli, passed the order on an application by the CBI's investigation officer handling the Peenya case, which has been registered against Abdul Karim Telgi and four others.
The investigation officer said that the accused had also used fake government seals (which have seized in the Upparpet case) on some of the documents seized in the Peenya case.
These seals, which have been produced in another court, were to be produced during trial of the Peenya case.
The seals could be brought if there was a direction by the special court, the investigation officer said.
The advocate representing the accused also filed his objections.
The judge allowed the application and asked the investigation officer to produce the seals before the court on Monday.
