Manoj, the toast of ECC

KOCHI: Off-spinner P.S. Manoj grabbed eight wickets for 43 runs as Ernakulam CC thrashed Tellicherry CC by six wickets and entered the first phase semifinals of the 19th KRL all-India cricket tournament at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Friday.

The scores (quarterfinals):

Tellicherry CC 180 in 29.5 overs (Aaron 72, P.S. Manoj eight for 43) lost to Ernakulam CC 185 for four in 23.1 overs (Madan Pradeep 77, Hanson 40).

At KRL Oval: Sharon CC, Ekm 161 for eight in 30 overs (Mukesh 57) lost to Jolly Rovers, Perinthalmanna 164 for seven in 25.4 overs (Yashik 51).

Chittilappilly CA, Tsr 146 in 29.3 overs (V.S. Shiju five for 20) lost to Cycle Brand Kids CC, Tvm 149 for three in 28.3 overs (Sambasiva Sharma 55, Rohan Prem 43). — Principal Correspondent
