SHRAVANABELAGOLA: Mahamastabhisheka will be covered live on HAM Radio. An Amateur (HAM) Radio Special Event Station will become operational and offer Amateur Radio Service by licensed HAM volunteers to assist the organisers in communication at Shravanabelagola and All Amateur (HAM) Radio licenses working from India will have their call sign prefix starting with VU2 or VU3, according to Special Event Station Coordinator, Ajoy. Mr. Ajoy, who visited Shravanabelagola on Thursday, said volunteers who would assist the organisers would be on UHF and VHF hand held trans-receivers with a few base station equipment both fixed and mounted on vehicles to ensure quick communication handling messages of public safety, crowd control, etc. The Special Event Station at Shravanabelagola would be a high frequency (HF) station with capability of contacting many stations with power of 100 watts, he added.
