Chandigarh: Orissa Steelers survived a scare before winning 2-1 against Imphal Rangers by a golden goal in a Tier II match of the Premier Hockey League here on Friday. Orissa earned two points now leads the table with 12 points after five games while Imphal Rangers garnered one point to increase its tally to four from four matches. Inder Singh Salaria (2) scored for the winner while Jayanta Singh scored for the loser. In another Tier II match, drag-flicker Raghunath scored three goals in Chennai Veerans' 4-2 victory over Delhi Dazzlers. Gurbaj Singh scored the fourth goal for the winner. Mandeep Singh and Ajitpal Singh reduced the margin for the loser. On Thursday, Sher-e-Jalandhar resurrected its fortunes with a hard-fought 1-0 win against defending champion Hyderabad Sultans in a Tier I match. Sher-e-Jalandhar earned its first penalty corner in the 10th minute following a foul by Vikram Pillay in the circle. Daljit Singh Dhillon sent in a swift push and Prabhdeep Singh set it up perfectly for Kanwalpreet Singh, whose direct hit beat Sultans' custodian Devesh Chouhan. Agencies
