Reference held

Kochi: A Full Court Reference was held on Friday at the Central Administrative Tribunal Ernakulam Bench in honour of K.V. Sachidanandan, judicial member of the tribunal, who demitted charge as member. Sathi Nair, Vice-Chairman, CAT, Ratna Singh, Advocate-General, Kerala, and V.P. Rashtra Raksha Sanchalanam

Kochi: The Rashtra Raksha Sanchalanam undertaken by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) will reach Kochi on January 16. The march will be received at Karukutty on 16. A Rashtra Raksha meeting will be organised at Thripunithura Layam ground on Tuesday. — Staff Reporter

District planning committee meet

Kochi: A meeting of the district planning committee will be held at Priyadarshini hall of the district panchayat on January 20, according to a statement issued by the district planning officer here on Friday. — Staff Reporter

Corporation criticised

Kochi: A.B. Sabu, Opposition Leader of the Kochi corporation, on Friday criticised the civic authorities for not implementing effective anti-mosquito operations in the city. The new council had not taken any steps for cleaning the drains, which serve as the breeding ground for mosquitoes. He added that water from the backwaters was used instead of seawater for flushing the drains.

Meeting

KOCHI: A meeting of the students who have qualified for the State School arts festival will be held at Ernakulam SRV High School auditorium on January 16. The qualified students from Ernakulam revenue district, TTI and PPTTI should attend the meeting to be held at 2 p.m., according to a statement issued here on Friday by V. Sanu, deputy director, Department of Education.
