Focussing on art

The English Club of AKMHS, Kottoor, in Malappuram district organised `Varnam,' a one-day workshop on art and art exhibition at the school recently. Charutha Raghunath of Fine Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram, interacted with the students at the workshop.

Magazine released

Government LP School, Mundur, in Palakkad district has released a magazine titled Chirakukal. It was the maiden literary attempt by students of the school. Sreekrishnapuram Krishnankutty, writer, was the chief guest on the occasion. Sivakumar, member, district panchayat, T.K. Chandran, Vasanthakumari Sudhangatha and Dinesh, members, Mundur grama panchayat, also attended the function.

Winners

Devika Somanna, Class VII student of BEM Girls HSS, Kozhikode, won the first prize in Mathematics quiz in the sub-district Science Mathematics and Work Experience Fair held at Ramakrishna Mission HSS, Meenchanda recently.

Hridya T.K. also of Class VII won the first prize in thread pattern, while Amrutha V. Nair of Class V and Sangeetha Amon of Class VI won the second prizes in budding and grafting and social science working model contests respectively. Marfath P.M. of Class VII won the third prize in Mathematics still model.

Jaishath M.T of Class VI won the first prize in Mappilappattu in the sub-district youth festival held at Government Model HSS, Kozhikode. Aswathi Nair of Class VI won the second prize in Mohiniyattom. Midhuna C, Anjitha O, Aiswarya P, Athira Das, Sreeshma, Anupama O and Athulya V, all of Class VII won the second prize in group dance. Anju T, Shilpa V.C, Anjana K, Megha P, Monica P, Haritha C.P and Rinu E.P, all of Class V won the third prize in patriotic song.
