Motorcycle expedition to be flagged off today

MADIKERI: National Cadet Corps (NCC) members of Kushalnagar Polytechnic will embark on a 2,400-km motorcycle expedition on Monday. They will tour the State and Goa.

The team includes women cadets and the message they intend to spread during the expedition is "Health through cleanliness."

Street plays

They will be covering 12 districts in the State and visit Goa to stress the importance of education, health and sanitation by using street plays, songs, seminars, video presentations and so on, an official press release said. The expedition is intended to make people aware of the health hazards posed by unclean surroundings, and the need to maintain cleanliness to prevent the spread of diseases. The expedition will cover Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Bellary, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Belgaum, Panaji, Karwar and Udupi and culminate in Mangalore on January 25.
