Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Central Government will observe a day's State mourning on Monday as a mark of respect for the Emir of Kuwait Shiekh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who passed away on Sunday.

The national flag will fly at half-mast and there will be no official entertainment, an official note said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed sorrow and grief at the death of the Emir, whom he described as a "friend of India and the Indian people."
