Double delight for Surya

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Surya Krishnamoorthy (Cotton Hill GHSS) won a double in the Thiruvananthapuram district inter-school carrom tournament held at the GPO here on Sunday.

Surya took the singles title in junior girls section with a 25-7, 25-12 win over Ninu Viva in the final. Later Surya and her partner Shamini won the doubles title defeating Ninu Viva and Simi 25-14, 25-21 in the final.

The results (finals): Boys: Juniors: M.L. Arun (Chalai BHSS) bt R. Prasanth (MMRHSS) 19-25, 25-18, 25-21.

Doubles: Sibin S. Bose / R.G. Kiran (Model BMSS) bt J.V. Sumesh / Arun K. Thampi (St. Joseph HSS) 25-13, 25-18.

Sub-juniors: Suraj K. Moorthy (Fort BHS) bt R.S. Vaishnav (VVHSS, Nemon) 25-23, 25-19.

Doubles: Suraj K. Moorthy / Deepak G. Nair (Fort HS) bt M. Sarath / Kanakesh (MMRHSS) 25-16, 25-20.

Girls: Juniors: Surya Krishnamoorthy (Cotton Hill GHSS) bt Ninu Viva (MMRHSS) 25-7, 25-12.

Doubles: Surya Krishnamoorthy / Shamini (Cotton Hill GHSS) bt Ninu Viva / Simi (MMRHSS) 25-14, 25-21.
