JCT held by Sporting Clube

Margao : A 61st minute goal by man-of-the-match Nigerian Edeh Chidi helped Super Cup winner Sporting clube de Goa to a 1-1 draw against JCT Mills, Phagwara and share points in its second round match in the ONGC 10th edition National Football League championship at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda here on Sunday.

With this draw both the teams are tied with two points each from two drawn matches. Though Sporting had a better share of exchanges, it failed to convert it goals, especially in the first half.

JCT shot into the lead in the 11th minute of the first half through Johnson off a well measured pass from Pravin Kumar. (1-0).

Goalless draw

Dempo came back strongly in the closing stage as it settled for a goalless draw against Fransa Pax in the NFL match on Saturday.

This is the second consecutive match both the teams drew.

Dempo earlier drew against Sporting Clube de Goa, while Fransa pax drew against JCT as both have collected two points each. Fransa found its momentum right early in the match as it put Dempo under pressure. — Agencies
