Teachers to stage dharna on January 27

HUBLI: The members of the `Federation of Karnataka State Permanently Unaided School-Colleges' Teachers, Employees and Governing Council' will take out a rally in Bangalore on January 27 and stage a dharna in front of the house of Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh.

Addressing presspersons here on Sunday, B.M. Jagatap and C.G. Chikkamath, presidents of the Dharwad and Haveri district units of the federation respectively, said that several elected representatives would participate in the protest. Although several memorandums had been submitted no action had been taken on providing grant-in-aid to the permanently unaided institutions, they said.
