Kannur North set to become champions

Payyannur with 417 points all set to emerge second and Taliparamba with 352 points third

WINNERS ALL: Swahila Abdul Rauf and party of Kadavathur UP School who won the first prize in the Oppana (Girls-UP) competition in the revenue district school festival in Kannur on Sunday.

KANNUR: The Kannur North education sub-district reached a comfortable position to emerge champions in the five-day revenue district arts festival on its final day on Sunday even as competitions in a few items were on till late night.

While Kannur North scored 435 points when the results of eight items were yet to be announced, Payyannur with 417 points emerged second. Taliparamba was all set to occupy the third slot with 352 points.

In the Balakalotsavam, Kannur North came first with 184 points followed by Madayi with 178 points and Payyannur 169 points. Kannur North also won the overall title in the Arabic High School (HS) and UP categories with 185 and 126 points respectively.

In the HS section, Thalassery North and Mattannur came second and third positions with 150 and 146 points respectively, while in the UP section,

Thalassery South and Iritty won the second and third places with 124 and 123 points respectively. Mattannur secured the first place in the Sanskrit HS section with 202 points followed by Thalassery North with 196 points and Payyannur with 188 points. In the UP section, Payyannur and Pappinisseri shared the first slot with 194 points each, while Kannur North and Iritty emerged second and third with 191 and 187 points.

In the TTI Kalotsavam, Kadambur TTI won the title with 121 points. Peringathur TTI and Malabar TTI were in the second and third positions with 111 and 105 points respectively.
