NALGONDA: Tension prevailed at Chintalapalem village of Peddavura mandal following a bomb blast near the house of village sarpanch of Telugu Desam Party on Saturday night. The Miryalaguda DSP, M. Lakshminarayana, said that the bomb was hurled on the stationary tractor of the sarpanch and none sustained injuries. "It was a crude bomb meant for fishing. The incident took place after an altercation between two youngsters in the village," he maintained. According to the DSP, two rival groups in the village were at loggerheads over a petty issue during a ritual in a temple in the village. "Commotion started in the village when a youngster screamed that another youngster of the rival group was trying to attack him. In the melee, one person hurled a bomb on the tractor," the DSP added. The police launched investigation after booking two cases on the basis of complaints filed by two rival groups. Mr.Lakshminarayana, who visited the village and spoke to the villagers, said that the situation was under control. Peddavura mandal falls under Chalakurthy Assembly constituency being represented by the Home Minister, K.Jana Reddy.
