Sonia, Rahul elected AICC members from Uttar Pradesh

LUCKNOW: Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi have been elected AICC members from Uttar Pradesh. The list, cleared by Ms. Gandhi, was issued at the Congress headquarters here.

Priyanka not in the list

But against expectations, the name of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was not in the list of 141 elected and 90 co-opted members.

While the inclusion of Ms Gandhi and her son Rahul was a mere formality, this is the second time Mr. Rahul has been included in the AICC list.

The last time, he was included as a co-opted member.

Other Congress leaders in the list are UPCC president Salman Khurshid, his MLA wife Louis Khurshid, Congress Legislature Party leader Pramod Tiwari, Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal, Shahjahanpur MP, Jitin Prasad, son of Jitendra Prasada, and UPCC chief spokesperson A.P. Singh. — UNI
