No mischief at Mysoora's house: MCH

Staff Reporter

Former Minister was "extremely cordial", say senior officials Former Minister cooperates with officials, says top brass

HYDERABAD: The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) has denied any mischief in `blockage' of entrance to the house of former Minister M.V. Mysoora Reddy on Banjara Hills Road no. 2 and stated that it had put up the fence as a routine procedure before the compound wall construction.

Senior officials of MCH said that Dr. Reddy, ex-Congressman and now in Telugu Desam, was "extremely cordial" and had cooperated in parting with his land free, for widening of the main road to 100 feet. And based on discussions with him, the MCH did not immediately take up construction of a sump and a compound wall.

Commercial complex

The former Minister obtained permission for construction of a commercial complex at the site and the MCH building committee cleared plan for cellar, sub-cellar and four floors, but a formal letter was yet to be issued. Dr. Reddy is said to have asked MCH officials not to re-build anything as he was going to change his property contours anyway.

Special drive

The TDP leader was in fact using the side entrance and when the local Mandal Revenue Officer fenced the road a few days ago, he found much to his shock that he could not enter the house. "We have nothing to do with his predicament but have decided to open up an entrance facing the main road," said an MCH official.

Later, the Hyderabad District Administration in a press release said that the land adjacent to Dr. Reddy's on Plot No.9 was fenced and taken possession of by the revenue authorities. This was part of a special drive to clear unauthorised encroachments and protect "valuable and vulnerable" Government lands.
