KOCHI: Welcoming the doctors' programme for going to the masses as part of the nationwide `Aao Gaon Chalen' programme initiated by the Indian Medical Association, M.A. Kuttappan, MLA, said that only when the doctors work at the grass root level, would they understand people's problems. He was speaking during the inauguration of the programme in which IMA, Kochi, adopted the Puthyvype village in Vypeen, for taking care of its medical requirements. Dono Master, president of Elamkunnapuzha Panchayat; Benny Bernard, Welfare Standing Committee chairman; K.A. Manoharan, ward member and K.G. Gopinath, Medical Officer of Community Health Centre, Malippuram, spoke on the occasion. Abraham Varghese, Secretary, IMA, Kochi welcomed the gathering. M.I. Sini, medical officer at Malippuram CHC, proposed a vote of thanks. About 500 people participated in the medical camp organised on the occasion.
