Two arrested on theft charge

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have arrested two teenagers on charges of stealing a video cassette player on Sunday. Those arrested are Renjith, 17, and Shameer, 15, both residents of Muttada. The accused were arrested by the police from Peroorkada junction. They had been sent to the juvenile home. — Staff Reporter

Journalism workshop for scientists

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 10-day course on `Development Journalism and Media Management' will be held at the Department of Agricultural Extension, College of Agriculture, Vellayani, from Monday. The course aims at developing and nurturing journalistic skills of agricultural scientists and teachers in their pursuit of technology transfer to the farming community. Over 25 scientists, extension specialists and faculty members from ICAR institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras and State Agricultural Universities are expected to take part in the programme. Mathew C. Kunnumkal, agricultural production commissioner will inaugurate the programme. — Staff Reporter
