Thiruvananthapuram: The rural police have registered a case against two staff members of a private school near Kattakada on the charge that they had illegally detained two minor girl children for defaulting the payment of monthly fees. The case (Kattakada police station crime 19/2006) was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Omana (57), the grandmother of the two children. The police said two staff members of the private school at Kuchapuram, who were yet to be identified, had been mentioned as accused in the case. The case had been registered under section 342 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. According to the complaint, the students were detained at the school till 6 p.m. on January 12. Later, the minor children were dropped near their house in an auto rickshaw. The children were admitted to a local hospital after they showed signs of mental trauma. Omana gave a complaint to the Kattakada police on January 13. The police said the investigation of the case was at a very preliminary stage.
