Rupee recovers

MUMBAI: The rupee on Monday rallied against the U.S. currency on strong exporter dollar sales amid a broader weak dollar even as heavy dollar demand from corporates and importers limited gains to the minimum in erratic two-way trading at the interbank foreign exchange market. The domestic unit ended at 44.21/22 a dollar, a three paise gain from last Friday's close of 44.24/25, but a sharp fall from the firm opening slot of 44.11/13 following the dollar's slide against major global currencies.— PTI
