Water supply to be hit

NEW DELHI: To facilitate annual flushing of overhead tank and underground reservoirs, water supply will be at low pressure on Wednesday at Vasant Enclave. Water supply will also be at low pressure on Wednesday evening at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Samaipur Badli Extension, Amba Bagh Colony, Than Singh Nagar, Anand Parvat, Ramjas Society, Punjabi Basti and Bapa Nagar.

Water tankers will be available on telephone No. 27681231 and 27681232 (Kewal Park), 26137216 (Vasant Kunj) and 25711129 (Rajinder Nagar).

DUSU gesture

NEW DELHI: The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) presented a draft for Rs.31,000 to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday to be donated towards the Jammu and Kashmir Earthquake Relief Fund. While DUSU has contributed Rs.11,000 from its funds, the rest was collected from students across the campus.

The cheque was presented by DUSU president Ragini Nayak, who was accompanied by NSUI national president, Nadeem Javed, and other DUSU members.

AWWA Awards

NEW DELHI: The Army Wives Welfare Association on Monday announced the winners of the AWWA Awards for Excellence for 2005.

The awards have been instituted to recognise exemplary efforts of AWWA members who have contributed in a positive manner and made a significant value addition in their given field of work. AWWA president Anupama Singh said the winners would be presented with badges. They include Rita Bhalla, Anuradha Dube, Paishola Shanglai, Poonam Singhal and D.M. Khare.

Bhakti Parv Samagam

NEW DELHI: "A true devotee is known by his inner noble qualities like love, humility and generosity and not by outer symbols like dress, place and region," said the head of the Sant Nirankari Mission, Baba Hardev Singh Maharaj, addressing a gathering at Bhakti Parv Samagam here over the weekend.

"True devotees trust God. They remain linked with this supreme power and rely on it. Devotion is the expression given to their relationship with God. They do not create or indulge in delusions. Nor do they entertain superstitions based on ignorance," he added. A number of devotees from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh attended the function.

Exhibition for tiny tots

NEW DELHI: An exhibition meant exclusively for nursery children was organised by Khazani Women Polytechnic here on Monday. Inaugurated by former Mayor Jaishri Panwar and DUSU president Ragini Nayak, the exhibition is aimed at imparting educational skills with the help of toys, cartoons and models.
