Bhardwaj angry

H. R. Bhardwaj

NEW DELHI: Union Law Minister H.R. Bhardwaj, who is at the centre of the controversy over de-freezing of London bank accounts of Bofors case accused Ottavio Quattrocchi, reacted angrily to speculation about his resignation on Monday night.

As Mr. Bhardwaj, who was a guest of honour at the annual Dr. K.N. Katju Memorial Lecture here, was leaving the venue, reporters sought his reaction on the demand for his resignation from the Union Cabinet in the wake of the latest Bofors controversy.

"Then take my resignation [to le lo mera isteefa]... You people are insulting me. I will not talk to you," he shot back angrily before boarding his car. Mr. Bhardwaj, known for making lengthy speeches, wrapped up his lecture on the "Role of the Bar in a democracy" in 10 minutes. — PTI
