Man's torso found in `nala'

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD : The naked torso of an unidentified man aged 25 was found in a drain at Alluri Sitaramarajunagar of Tappachabutra on Monday. Police suspect that the killers must have dumped the body after killing him elsewhere two or three days ago.

No clues were found at the spot except the word `amma' (in Telugu) tattooed on the victim's left hand.

His right hand and left leg were missing. A local person, Ramakrishna alerted the police after spotting the body in the `nala' at 7 a.m.

The police summoned a sniffer dog and forensic experts to the scene. A sari lying beside the body was recovered. "The victim appears to be a labourer," Tappacahbutra Inspector M.S. Venugopala Rao said.
