In-charge excise inspector of Saroornagar suspended

HYDERABAD : The tribal woman, Nanavath Bujji, whose relatives charged the Saroornagar excise officials with murdering her after rape, died due to some corrosive poison, said forensic experts on Monday.

Suspended

Meanwhile, the Government suspended the Saroornagar excise station inspector in-charge Krishna in connection with the death.

Forensic experts of Osmania General Hospital said no external or internal injuries were found on the body ruling out the possibility of the woman being beaten to death. On charges of sexual assault, the experts had sent the swabs collected from the body to the forensic laboratory for final opinion. Viscera sample was also collected and her clothes were preserved after the autopsy.

Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy instructed officials of the Education Department to admit the victim's children in a residential school and ensure pursuance of their studies.

Dr. Reddy earlier instructed the Excise Commissioner to suspend the station in-charge.
