KOCHI: The two factions of the Malankara Church have reiterated their claims to the Thrikkunnathu seminary, church and their premises and the two factions have made elaborate arrangements to celebrate the feasts of the Fathers of the Church buried at Thrikkunnathu. The Orthodox Christian Youth Movement, Angamaly Diocese, said in a press release here that the feast of the Fathers of the Church would be celebrated on January 25 and 26. The Jacobite faction had announced earlier that it would hold a three-day prayer meeting, led by Catholicos Baselios Thomas I, before the Thrikkunnathu seminary between January 22 and 24. This would be followed by the celebration of the feast on January 25 and 26. Spokesman for the Jacobite Church, Varghese Kallappara, said that they had sought permission from the Government to accord a reception to the Catholicos on January 25 on the seminary premises where the Fathers of the Church are buried. He also said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had been invited to attend a reception and reiterated that no law and order problem would be created and that the Jacobites would not force their way. A meeting of various groups under the Orthodox Church on Sunday at the seminary said that they would protect the seminary property at any cost and warned that the Government would be responsible for the fall out of anyone using force to enter the seminary premises.
