Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Kadugondanahalli police have solved the mystery surrounding the murder of an unidentified man on the basis of a courier delivery slip that was found in his pocket.

On Saturday, the police found the body of a man lying on a heap of mud on the Nagavara Tank bund road leading to Mariyannanapalya. The police, who searched the trouser pockets of the victim, found a courier delivery slip.

The police took the photograph of the dead and went to the address, which was mentioned in the slip: 2nd Cross, Gowripet, Kolar. They established the identity of dead as Sonnappa (30), a native of Thamaka, off Kolar, and a resident of Sampige Road in Malleswaram here.

Investigations revealed that Sonnappa's friend Manjunath and four others allegedly strangled him to death in the early hours of Saturday, carried his body in an autorickshaw and dumped it on the Nagavara tank bund, the police said.

The police have arrested four of the accused, Manjunath, Ravi, Krishna Murthy and Ramesh. They are on the lookout for the other accused, Prakash.
