Golden jubilee of college department

KOLLAM: The golden jubilee of the Department of Botany, Fatima Mata National College here will be celebrated on January 24. The Fatima Alumni Association of Botany will be inaugurated to mark the occasion. Director of Entomology, Loyola College, Chennai, S. March by KSU activists

KOCHI: KSU activists took out a march on the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) campus on Tuesday in protest against the Syndicate decision ratifying the election of a SFI representative as general secretary of the Cochin University Union. KPCC general secretary Ajay Tharayil inaugurated a dharna held in connection with the protest. About 20 activists were later taken into custody for holding the protest. — Staff Reporter

B.Ed. case posted to February 24

KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode Vigilance Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judge B. Sudheendrakumar has posted the B.Ed. bribe demand case to February 24 for recording the statement of Yuhannon Mar Philixinos, Metropolitan of Malabar Jacobite Orthodox Syrian Church. The Metropolitan has expressed his inability to appear before the court on Tuesday. he case was on the basis of a complaint filed by Jomon Puthenpurakkal, a social activist. — Staff Reporter

The award carries a purse of Rs.10,001 and a citation.
