Telgi, two associates sentenced

Mumbai: In the first conviction in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scandal, a special court on Tuesday sentenced Abdul Karim Telgi and his two associates to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment and fined them Rs. 50,000 each.

Telgi is lodged in Yerwada prison in Pune.

In the nearly Rs. 30,000-crore fake stamp scandal, Telgi faces 48 cases in various places, including Maharashtra and Karnataka. — PTI
