Jayalalithaa pays tributes to MGR

CHENNAI: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday paid floral tributes to the statue of her political mentor and former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran on his 89th birth anniversary.

Ms. Jayalalithaa arrived at the AIADMK headquarters here around 9.15 a.m. and garlanded the statue. She released a souvenir brought out by the party. Ministers, legislators and functionaries of the party also paid floral tributes.

Led by Bharatiya Janata Party national executive member S. Thirunavukkarasar, party activists and legislators garlanded the bust of MGR at his memorial house in T.Nagar.

Founder of the Jananayaka Munnetra Kazhagam S. Jagathratchagan and party activists also garlanded the bust of the late leader.
