Two sent to custody for power theft
The accused, who had been booked for theft under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act and Section 379/34 of the IPC by the Gokulpuri police upon a complaint by BSES Yamuna Power Limited, were produced in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Chandra Gupta, who sent the two to judicial custody till the time their bail applications are heard. Meanwhile, in another case, involving M/s Baba Sutli Works, Mr Gupta dismissed the anticipatory bail application of the accused and proprietor Vinod Kumar, who had been charged with theft of power for industrial use.
Mumbai car dealer found dead
The West Delhi police said as Mohammad Asif, the brother of the 28-year-old deceased, Mohammad Arif, has suspected foul play in the incident, the viscera has been preserved and sent for chemical analysis to rule out poisoning as a reason behind the incident. Mohammad Arif had come to Delhi on Sunday to collect the payment from another dealer. In the evening he had dinner with the owners of Sethi Motors and Classic Motors and then went with the owner of Sethi Motors to his residence. The following morning, Arif was found dead. The Paschim Vihar police informed the brother of the deceased about the incident and he rushed to Delhi.
Doctors, nurse allegedly beaten up
The young man was admitted to the hospital with cerebral haemorrhage three days ago after he met with an accident. He developed complications during the day and, according to doctors, all attempts to save him proved futile and he died later in the evening. Angry relatives of the deceased then marched into the hospital and beat up the doctors and staff on-duty. The police was called in to control the situation.
IARI official killed
The incident occurred around 9-30 p.m. when Gulshan (33) was on his way to his Uttam Nagar residence. The police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving and are trying to identify the involved vehicle.
Auto-lifters nabbed
The accused, identified as Ravi and Wahid, were arrested during a surprise check by the area police. During interrogation, they allegedly confessed to their involvement in auto-lifting cases.
