Rupee at 12-day closing low
MUMBAI:
Losing another six paise, the Indian currency on Wednesday slipped to a 12-day closing low of 44.41/42 a dollar, pulled down by sustained heavy dollar demand from oil corporates and importers on the back of flaring global oil prices and a slowdown in foreign portfolio investment inflows.
Moderate exporter dollar sales, however, helped the rupee to partly bounce back to 44.38/39, before settling at 44.41/43 at the close, still sharply lower from Tuesday's close of Rs 44.35/36 per dollar, dealers said. PTI
