"For the first time in the history of mobile communications"

CHENNAI: Vijay fans can now get a glimpse of the latest from their Ilaya Thalapathy on their mobile phones. If they have Reliance India Mobiles, that is. The company is promoting his latest release Aathi, directed by Ramanaa.

Subscribers will be able to watch trailers, download ring tones and wallpapers, and participate in contests that will get them a chance to win free tickets, audio CDs, cassettes and memorabilia from the action thriller.

Reliance has also tied up with the film for outdoor and indoor promotions. "For the first time in the history of mobile communications, the hero of a movie will anchor his movie's preview on a mobile phone, revolutionising data application in mobile telephony," V.G. Somasekhar, RIM head, Tamil Nadu Circle, says. Subscribers will be able to watch Vijay talk about Aathi all through the month.
