Manoj, Prasanth sparkle for KRL

KOCHI: An unbeaten 93 from junior Kerala opener K.X. Manoj and a five-wicket haul by Ranji medium-pacer Prasanth Chandran saw host Kochi Refineries Limited down BDL (Hyderabad) by 39 runs and post its second successive win in the Pool `A' league of the 19th KRL all-India cricket tournament at the Ambalamugal KRL Oval on Wednesday.

The scores: At Ambalamugal: RDT, Ananthpur 182 for seven in 30 overs (G.Raman 42) bt Cycle Brand Kids, Thiruvananthapuram 173 for six in 28 overs (Sambasiva Sharma 61, Madan Mohan 60).

KRL, Ambalamugal 177 for seven in 30 overs (K.X. Manoj 93 n.o., Abhishek Hegde 40, Kushal P. Jillah four for 35) bt BDL, Hyderabad 138 in 24 overs (Kushal P. Jillah 51, Prasanth Chandran five for 38).

At Tripunithura: Jolly Rovers, Perinthalmanna 105 in 24.4 overs (Sunil Thomas 52, Venkat Subramaniam four for 28) lost to Eagles CC, Chennai 106 for four in 19.5 oves (Guru Bhaskar 42 n.o.).
