KOCHI: An unbeaten 98 (78 balls, 6x6, 6x4) by Prajeesh went in vain as Pachalam CC lost to Sharon CC by three wickets in a first round match of the 25th Coromandel Cement cricket tournament at the Nehru Stadium here on Wednesday. In another encounter, AG's Office SRC (Thrissur) defeated Century CC (Ernakulam) by seven wickets and entered the third round. The scores: Pachalam CC, Ernakulam 232 for four in 30 overs (Prajeesh 98 n.o., Arun Kumar 48 n.o.) lost to Sharon CC, Ernakulam 233 for seven in 30 overs (Rajesh 78, Bijay 47). Century CC, Ernakulam 142 for eight in 30 overs (Varun three for 15) lost to AG's Office SRC, Thrissur 144 for three in 23.3 oves (Sanoj 75 n.o.). — Principal Correspondent
