Krishi Upaj mandi offices raided in Jaipur

Over 250 motorcycles recovered

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday raided offices of Krishi Upaj Mandi here following complaints of corruption, tax evasion and other irregularities which had caused losses to the State exchequer.

Two teams of ACB sleuths raided the premises of Krishi Upaj Mandi at Surajpole and Sikar road in the city early this morning, seizing documents and cash, Director General of Police (ACB), P K Tiwari said.

Over 250 motorcycles, soap cartons and other utilities were recovered from godowns which the mandi functionaries had rented to private companies, he said.

These mandis are run by Agricultural Marketing Board of the State Government, he said. A detailed assessment of bungling would be known later in the night, Mr. Tiwari added.- PTI
