Lawyers urged to call off strike

Legal Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Executive Committee of the Bar Association of India has appealed to the Capital's lawyers to give up their ongoing agitation and call off their strike over the issue of opening of the new Rohini court complex and mediation centres here. The advocates have been on strike for the past few weeks.

The resolution passed at the instance of senior lawyers P.P. Rao and R.K.P. Sankardass at the Bar Association meeting on Tuesday noted that the strike was affecting innocent clients.

Appealing to the lawyers to call off their agitation, the resolution urged all lawyers to support the efforts of the Indian judiciary and the legal profession to help ensure speedy justice.
