Bangalore: He gets a good idea of the state of roads in remote rural areas and where no roads really exist and don't, from watching Indian language new channels on cable television, Union Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways K.H. Muniyappa said here on Wednesday. Mr. Muniyappa was releasing the Bangalore Media Directory brought out by the Press Information Bureau. The Union Minister asked the official media agencies to work along these lines so that real problems of the people were highlighted along with measures taken to solve them. "I want to spend time with senior journalists of Bangalore on my next visit and learn what really can be done for the State," he said. Additional Principal Information Officer Archana Datta said the PIB was adopting information technology in a big way to help today's media world. "Through the e-clippings project we have digitised over 2.45 lakh press clippings and our photo archives are now available in digital format for faster access and use. The Bangalore PIB has launched its own website which will become multilingual soon. We are planning a workshop for media persons on effective use of the Right to Information Act," she said.
