India's tour postponed
WELLINGTON:
India's cricket tour to New Zealand in February 2007 has been postponed with the approval of both countries, New Zealand Cricket said on Thursday.
The timing of the tour, comprising two Tests and five ODIs, was too close to the World Cup in the West Indies, NZC chief executive Martin Snedden said. He said the ICC had moved the start of the World Cup from April to March. ``Following the ICC's decision, NZC and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) discussed various rescheduling options before finally agreeing that the tour should take place in December 2008,'' he said in a statement.
The New Zealand Herald had reported the tour's postponement, quoting ICC president. AP
