PONDICHERRY: A newly installed exchange, which has facility for giving one lakh Mobile Switching Centre (MSC) based on fixed wireless connections in eight telecom districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry will be commissioned on January 21. The Union Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Dayanidhi Maran, would inaugurate the exchange at Pondicherry. S. M. Kalavathi, General Manager, BSNL, Pondicherry told reporters on Thursday that the exchange, installed at a cost of Rs. 6.8 crore, would cater to telecom districts of Pondicherry, Cuddalore, Chengalpet, Vellore, Erode, Salem, Coimbatore and Dharmapuri.
