Ramanathapuram: Minister of State for Law and Justice K. Venkatapathy has called upon the people to utilise various schemes of the Central Government. Inaugurating the three-day exhibition to highlight the achievements of the Centre here on Thursday, he said though it had implemented many short-term and long-term schemes, there was little awareness about them. So, exhibitions would be useful to create awareness of the schemes and make the people to utilise them. He said the United Progressive Alliance Government had brought many schemes including the Sethusamuthram Ship Canal Project to Tamil Nadu. The Government wanted to extend maximum of Rs.7 lakh as loan without security to all needy and eligible students. It had facilitated lakhs and lakhs of students to go for higher studies during the last two years. All nationalised banks, Tuticorin Port Trust, Southern Railway and other Central Government Departments have opened stalls in the exhibition. M.S.K. Bhavani Rajendran, MP, Ramanathapuram, Ilasai Sundaram, Director, All India Radio, Madurai, S. Palanisamy, Senior Regional Manager, IOB, participated.
