American `B' bags title

MADURAI: American College Higher Secondary School `B' lifted the Vickram Trophy defeating St. Mary's HSS, Madurai 1-0 in the final of the district-level inter-school football tournament conducted by Vickram College of Engineering here on Thursday.

The matchwinner was scored by Rajesh Kannan five minutes from close.

In the third place match American College H.S.S. `A' beat Don Bosco HSS by a solitary goal scored by Senthilkumar.

Special awards:

Goalkeeper: Manikandan (St. Mary's); defender: Md. Yasin (ACHSS `B'); player of the tournament: Thomas (St. Mary's).
