DEHRA DUN: The Forest Research Institute here will hold a national Silviculture Conference from February 1as part of its Centenary celebrations. Announcing this here on Thursday, FRI Director S. S. Negi said the aim is to revive the old tradition of holding such conferences the last of which was held in 1967. It would help in bringing together experts and ideas in the various State forest departments, research organisations and stakeholders. The themes for the three-day event are enhancing forest productivity through silviculture interventions, silviculture and management issues in joint forest management, forest fires, managing forests for fuel wood, fodder, grazing, medicinal plants and other non-wood forest products and bio-fuels and plantation technology.
