Cricket tournament for the visually challenged
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI:
Nethrodaya, a voluntary organisation working for the visually challenged, is organising Nethrodaya Cup, a cricket tournament, for the blind.
Four teams from Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will vie for the honours this year at the 24-over matches.
The World Blind Cricket Council rules will be followed in conducting the tournament.
The players will use their auditory senses to play, hence the stumps are metal and the customised ball rattles when it moves.
