City Congress president meets Chief Minister

Konathala present at the meeting

VISAKHAPATNAM: City Congress president Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao along with Minister for Commercial Taxes Konathala Ramakrishna called on Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The meeting assumes importance following announcement of Mr. Ramakrishna at a recent meeting of party workers here that Mr. Srinivasa Rao would be party's candidate for the Visakha-I byelections.

Bypolls are being held on February 16.

The vacancy was caused following the death of Dronamraju Satyanarayana, father of Mr. Srinivasa Rao.

Dr. Rajasekhahra Reddy told Mr. Rao that the death of his father was an irreparable loss to the Congress and asked him to work hard for realisation of late Satyanarayana's goals.
