MADURAI: The district administration has made special arrangement to provide computer generated patta transfer order to the members of the public. The order will be provided in a hassle-free manner free of cost to the applicants. The thrust of this programme was to issue the orders without brooking delay. Accordingly, the office of the South Taluk, situated within the Collectorate campus here, has been computerised. In order to provide transparency in the system, the administration had installed a touch screen kiosk at the Taluk office to facilitate the applicants to ascertain the position on their own. The touch screen could be operated by the pattadars or those seeking patta transfers. According to the Collector, D. Raajendiran, here on Thursday, the computer generated patta transfer orders would be issued immediately upon submission of applications. Those desirous of obtaining the orders for house-sites or land or legal heir certificates could avail this opportunity and benefit, he said. The applications should be submitted with photostat copies of the relevant documents. The chore of issuing the computerised patta transfer order has commenced and according to sources already 25 persons had availed the facility since Jan.18.
